Todays circuit breaker deal.
i think its decent. good for those that missed the Dell energizer charger deals. similar deal here; come with charger and 4 AA NiHM batteries.
not sure how this compact charger compares to the 15minute one Dell had.

I saw them at walmart for 20$ and also the small quick USB charger for 10$
If you go to save.ca sometime there's a coupon for 5$ off any energizer charger.

Dell's unit was an "Energizer CH15MNCP-4 15-Minute Battery Charger Kit with Car Adapter and 4 AA 2200MAH Rechargeable Batteries" for $20 back in May 2007?
The TSCC unit takes 8.5 hours to charge. Get a faster charger since your time is probably worth the extra cost.

I believe this is a 4-pass charger, which can charge a single battery and adds some advantages than dell's one.

The CH15MN (http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/CH15MN.pdf) can accept 1 to 4 battery, if charge current is ok for you, its only problem is 120V AC or 12V DC only

I think the introduction has something wrong here. I called the two CSRs of energizer to confirm this. The answer is you can only use to charge 2 or 4 batteries. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Link to website manual, looks like it is 2 or 4.

I can't see if it work on a timer, or shuts off after charging complete? It does say that the batteries won't be harmed if left in longer than required.

CHDC7 (http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chdc7.pdf) is timer based, must be charged in pairs, its relative low output prevents damage to the battery but still better to remove once done.
IMHO, Panasonic BQ-390 or the Sanyo equivalent is still the best (using -deltaV) in the medium speed AA NiMH charger category

I got the 15-minute charger for $30 a while back on sale, however the batteries get very hot, so much that my cheapo "Ultra" brand batteries actually leaked. No problems with energizer or sanyo batteries so far, but if you're using no-name batteries, it's probably better to get a trickle charger like this.
