I'm in need of a new psu to upgrade my video card to a 7900 series.
Currently I have a Sparkle Power 400W.
Ncix currently has a Coolermaster 650W for $29 after MIR.
Is that the best deal out there right now?
Thanks!

400w should be sufficient to run a 7900 series
does your psu have a pci-e cable?
as for best value, the coolermaster maybe cheap but you also need to consider the features the power supply has.
i dont know which 650w you are specifically referring to.
the corsair VX series are good value although they are in the $70-80 range. they do however have $10 MIR I believe.

Here is what I currently have:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17076&vpn=ATX-400-PN-B&manufacture=Sparkle%20Power%20Intl.
Here's that one on sale:

I thought they took more power than that... I guess maybe I should just
get a card and try it.
Here's my setup:
Athlon 3700+
Asrock 939dual-sata2
Ocz Premier 1gb (2x512)
BFG 6800GT OC (AGP)... want to upgrade to 7900 PCI-e
LG DVD-RW
2x IDE HDD's (80 & 160gb)
Floppy
2 case fans (80 & 92mm)
I think that's it

400w should be enough
i recently built pc for a friend who running c2d, 2gb ram, 1 dvd rw, 1 hd3 fans, 8800gt and its running fine on a 450w.
try it first, most ppl tend to go over kill on the powersupply.
check out this power system running on 350w:

its not necessarily about the wattage but rather the quality.
that coolermaster is okay, but i would definitely look for something with 80% efficiency and Active PFC (cleans power).
