Free Bell internet for 3 months

I've been receiving calls from the people at Bell saying that I can get high-speed internet for free for 3 months without any contract or installation fees, etc. Has anyone actually signed up for this? I just need a few months of internet and if I can get it for free, why not?!

I'd check the terms carefully. Most Bell offers are for free/cheaper internet for 3 months when you sign up for a contract. It then reverts to the higher price in the fourth month. I highly doubt they're just going to give you free internet for 3 months, no strings attached.

That's what I was thinking but the guy kept saying that if I don't want it after 3 months, I can stop the service without being charged, etc. If it is free internet access, I bet it'll cost like $50 to have stuff sent over, LOL.

i got this offer before and it is indeed free but there is now a cap for new users and you have to cancel 30 days ahead of the end of your free trial or you'll becharge for the next month.

So where do I go / call for this offer? I could really use this since I am switching over 200GB of files in the next 2 months from one server to another, hence will have 2 full desktops one with Rogers and one with Bell uploading 24/7 :D

Same here. I got the offer before as well (though not through phone soliciting of sort). It was a friend's friend who had some sort of affliation with Dell. I didn't quite figure out how he could offer that but I took that anyway. 3 months were up and Bell was not up to par in my area so I switched to Rogers. No probelm at all. But do make sure you check with all the terms and such

To the OP: Yes, Bell does this a few times a year. It is a real deal. If you are cancelling though just do it at the start of the 3rd month. Most likely you'll get offered a 1-2 year retention deal. Accept or deny and go from there.

Wow, thanks so much for all of the replies!! I was also expecting someone to come in here and say it was a scam and to avoid it!! I guess that as long as I cancel it 30 days before the 3-month term ends, I'm good.

I got a phone call today and the person speaking over the phone had an accent and was really rude and persistent. I told her I wasn't interested and she kept saying it's free! I told her no thank you, I would like to pass on it in a polite manner, and shes like "it's free, it's free! and she hangs up on me without saying good bye or anything.


Someone mentioned above about who ever think its a scam is an idiot. From my experience, the unprofessional manner of speaking over phone gave me an impression it was a scam.

I'm not saying this is a scam, but there is a scam very similar to this going on. I've received several "offers" of free Sympatico due to me being such a valued Bell Mobility customer. They were going to send me a modem by FedEx or Purolator. The number that appeared on my call display was an Arkansas number. They would not proceed without my credit card information.

There were many things that tipped me off that this was a scam, but the most obvious was that I already had Sympatico. I hung up and called Bell and advised them of this. Bell confirmed that these people were trying to scam me. They were trying to get my credit card number, and placing a very large charge on it, and then disappearing.

When they called again (they were calling twice a week), I told them that I'd already reported them to Bell and the police, and I never heard from them again.

So, you see, that person should not jump to conclusions and call skeptical people "idiots".

On their website it says 2 month for free, so it is not a public promotion.

ok who am i kidding as much as bell sucks, free is free. go ahead but MAKE SURE you cancel 30 days before the term expires. for anything longer look up one of the many other companies selling DSL out there.

Just make sure you get it in writing that you can cancel, when you have to do so in order to avoid cancellation charges, and that there there will be no cancellation fee. Do not agree over the phone only, especially if you give them your CC! Yeah, I'm a skeptic, but not an idiot.
