I had a couple nights where I would go unconscious but would wake up as if I had negative sleep. And then my throat got worse and worse. Im really sick now but I dont know if it is the flu or very bad insomnia.

About half my co-workers have gotten the flu.... and it was bad, they missed many days of work and in almost all the cases it lasted over a WEEK. Luckily I have not contracted it yet, but for sure I will contract it in the "2nd round" it comes around.

If it's the flu you're getting, this round is particularly bad - I had it a few weeks before Christmas. Expect to be REALLY sick for three days, and managably sick for another 3-4.
Tylenol Extra Strength FTW.

For about a week in December I had the flu. When I woke up after sleeping I didn't feel particularly refreshed, and it felt as if I slept not at all. My throat would be really sore all the time too.

just out of curiosity, did any of you guys who got infected get the flu shot? not suggesting that the vaccine causes the flu (i know it doesn't), but just wanted to kinda sense its efficacy.

I haven't gotten a flu shot in at least 5 years and I've never caught the flu in my 10+ years living in Canada.

What i said about the disabled is true but I was saying it facetiously since everyone knows they are royalty and free from criticism.

This yrs shot wasn't that helpful. I think the guys who made the prediction about this yrs strain really dropped the ball this time.
Flu Shot = auto immunity?
Flu Shot = placebo effect?

I'm surprised no one has made any felatio reference.
I've contracted the flu once in high school accompanied by a case of bronchitis. I seriously thought I was going to die. So far got the cold and still recovering from it presently. Need a better night's sleep; get a featherbed. You'll be conked out in a matter of seconds.

That's interesting because I have gotten the flu shot for the past 7 years and have not caught the flu since starting the shots. I did catch the flu every few years before starting the shots, though. Of course, this could just be coincidence and I certainly can't conclude that I would have gotten the flu recently if I did not take the shots.
Also interesting, according to the government of Ontario: "Some individuals who get a flu shot can still get the flu. But if they do, it is usually a milder
case than it would have been without the shot."

I have never got the shot, and haven't contracted the flu in that time either.

yeah, some people just have naturally strong immune systems, and/or they're healthy (exercise, eat lots of veggies and fruits, get plenty of sleep, etc.).
i guess if there's really no harm in getting the shot, then why not, right? but, then again, some people would argue that vaccines are dangerous. but that's another can of worms which i won't get involved in.

I haven't had the flu vaccine in 4 years and haven't gotten the flu. Don't like what they put in the vaccine.
I guess I'm lucky.
