Not exactly sure how you measure success then. Microsoft pwns many many markets - the OS market, the Business Productivity software, developer software, email software, video consoles - and is a huge player in a lot more. They're one of the largest (if not the largest) technology companies AND they have billions in the warchest.

Ford on the other hand is thrashing in the quick sand.
