Is anyone here currently in this program in college or has completed this program thats willing to give me some information about it?
How do you find the program? How is the field placement?
Do you know if there are a lot of jobs in this field? How easy is it to get a job after graduation? What is the pay like for these positions (instructor therapist)?
Any help/advice would be great.
Thanks

There are lot of job opportunities in this field. The pay scale is not that great in the starting but there is lot room to move up the ladder in this field. The field is growing very quickly within Canada and USA, the demand for therapist to provide services to children with Autism is tremendous.

Thanks for your reply.
Do you by any chance know what the starting pay is for a position in this field?

i finished uni last year, and was down to deciding between autism & behavioural sci at GB, and dental hygiene at GB. i went with DH because of the hours and the pay...starting is 4x that of an instructor therapist. i figured i could still do some volunteering at variety village in my free time as well.
my friend graduated from the autism program at seneca, and is currently working as an instructor therapist. the pay isn't great - $15/hour, which she would make doing her old job of managing a pool which doesn't require any education, let alone post-grad studies. however, she did find a job very quickly after graduating. there's a high demand.
if you have any questions, feel free to PM. i researched the program and the career pretty thoroughly last year.

How come Seneca doesn't list this program on their website? I remember someone posting here earlier that their friend was a director of a Autism Centre only 3 years since graduating, making 60-70k
*Nevermind, i found the program listed under part time studies.
As other have said, their are many job opportunities in this field. Funding and research has increased alot in recent years. Also i'm not sure if it's true but Autism is one of the most common gene disorders per 1000 people in Canada.

If any of you are in the Ottawa area, we're looking for an ABA therapist part-time. Just pm me for more information.
