First off, I'm really clueless about my vacation pay right now, my workplace is unionized so they might have negotiated something about Vac Pay.
1. you need to work 1900 hours before you are entitled to "vacations"
2. There's a section on my paystub which accumulate the 4% which part times are entitled to.
3. and you can only get the 4% from your "vacation" time off.
So you can only get your 4% pay after you've worked 1900 hours. Then this part i don't really understand.
You are entitled to 2 weeks vacations after 1900 hours. My rate right now is around $14 so 1900hours x $14 = $26600 x 4% pay = $1064 of 4% vac pay..
i work 24 hours every 2 weeks, so that's around $350.....
After 1900 hours i take 2 weeks, so i can only take $350 from my accural, (1064-350=$714) and the rest have to wait a year later until i'm entitled to another 2 weeks of vacation. In the mean time, the 4% will still accumulate.....so that's probably another $300 accumulated in the mean time.... and then another $350 will bring it down to (714+300 accumulated = 1014 - $350 2 week vacation = $700)
So, i mean i brought this up to everybody that's part time now, and everyone finally realize that this doesn't this make sense at all. Because you'll probably never gonna to get back all your 4% this way, because it accumulates another year...Are they even allow to do this even with Union negotations? .... and we are not allow to take more than 2 weeks, so that's all we're getting.... Where should I go about, because my workplace, the manager says that's what it is negotiated or something.... is there any place i can go and complain?
