I just finished reading Busting Vegas (Only $5 at Chapters, interesting read) the sequel to Bringing Down the House. Anyway, this MIT team used a different system (not card counting) for beating blackjack.
Warning Book Spoiler Below:
-------------------------------------------------
Basically their systems involved catching dealers that would expose to bottom card in the deck, they would then put the cut card in a spot and know how many cards deep it was placed (done through lots of practice) and then being able to predict to know when a card would come out. They could then increase when a Ace was on the bottom or on a 10 and direct it to dealer to get them to bust.
-------------------------------------------------
I know Fallsview has switched to a shuffle machine and now Im wondering if Vegas casinos have switched to shuffle machines prevent this type of play now that this knowledge is mainstream. (The alternative is training their staff to protect the bottom card better) Anyone know?
