Just noticed something that I found peculiar, thought I would share...

I was checking the prices for a flight from YEG - LAS on the Air Canada site and saw that if you book a round-trip, it came to $411.61, but if you book it as two separate one-way flights, it came to $399.53. As a round-trip, the return flight was $164 with $17.30 GST, but as a one-way, it was only $161 with $8.72 GST (no GST was charged on the flight departing LAS). All the other taxes/fees stayed mostly the same.

Not sure why it works out that way, but seems like an easy way to save a few bucks.

Perhaps it is an American/Canadian dollar issue. If you buy in Canada for the way down it is Canadian $ and the trip back is American $ (because it is from Las Vegas) therefore no PST or GST?
