Average price of tickets from BUF to LAX?

I dont want to be paying to much, but I will be going to LA during the july 4th weekend, and just want to make sure I dont pay more than I have to. I found some tickets, with return for around 250 taxes in, is this normal? Its from cheaptickets.com. Also should I book now or later? Do airlines give more discounts during holidays or no? THanks

I flew to LA via Southwest in March for $200. One stop each way, but that's not too big of a deal. Actually I liked having the connection in Chicago on the way back. Let me stretch my legs partway through the trip.
