Hello,
I would really appreciate the community's help in letting me know of part-time jobs (max 12 hours per week) around York University area or in Markham OR a good job search website as well.

Appreciate your help, thanks!

Happy new year!

Ipsos Reid or any telemarketing company. I think you can choose your own hours too?

fast food - harveys, McDs, Wendy's, BK, tim hortons or retail are your best bet for students

I think Timmies would look good on a resume.

Not so much McDonalds.

Both would have the same effect on your resume; however, the one that is in the cashier position would have more of a stronger effect.

Mcdonald's has a very structured training program, and is a very busy restaurant. An employer would see that this potential employee has the ability to handle customers effectively, as well as multi-task during very busy situations.

A cashier position would be a good choice for either companies, and a very good manager would help too, to give a very good future reference.

Would they be cool with only letting you work 12 hours a week though

Haha ya for sure. Mcdonalds has some of the weirdest shifts I know. Like, I work at walmart, the MINIMUM hours I get on a shift is 4hours, that only happened once in two years, I always get 5hrs minimum now. I get at least 16hours a week.

However, my friend works at Mcdonalds and gets only 11hours a week sometimes. They move him to 1 of the 3 mcdonalds in our area, he never works at the same one all the time. He also gets shifts as short as 3hours!!

my little brother works at harveys for $8/hr usually he just works friday night [after school till closing] and sometimes a saturday or a sunday, and sometimes no weekends only friday.

on the other hand, it might be difficult getting a job when there are other applicants looking for part-time as well who maybe able to commit to more hours, but the best of luck to you.
