I am from Calgary, but have a friend coming in for a weekend in Banff. As being somewhat of a "local" I'm not exactly sure what people would want to see coming into Banff.

If you were coming to Banff in winter, what would you like to do / see? Any tours around that anyone has been on and recommend?

Here are just a few suggestions (I'm a Calgarian also)....

-Go for a dip in the Banff Hot Springs (this is a must!)
-Skiing (Sunshine, Lake Louise, Nakiska, etc...)
-Hike at Johnson's Canyon and see the iced waterfalls
-Visit Lake Louise/Moraine Lake
-Rent some snowshoes and go out into Kananaskis

As a "local" I've never taken any tours in the Banff area, so I can't comment on that.

Hope that gives you some ideas to work with.

snowboarding or snowmobiling, taking a dip at radium hot springs.

you should focus on gravity sports with the terrain being so great.

Anyone know how much flights are from Toronto to Banff (Calgary)?

And which hotel should I stay at?

I'm looking to go for a 1 week stay and visit the Banff area. I need ideas on what to do though. I'm not much of a winter sports fanatic.

AC has a seat sale now, Im flying in early feb to Calgary for $480.

check expedia.ca instead of bumping old threads next time.

If you don't like sports, perhaps try a day of snowmobiling? Its not that intense on your body. Other then that theres spas's, massages, umm people watching with coffee?

Heads up, Banff outlawed tim hortens.

Yes obviously Skiing is a must. Lake Louise is also a nice place to hang out for the night (probably not for dinner, a bit expensive haha).
