i was working at a job and i quit in 2003. after looking through my room i found a record of employment and then i took a look at it and it says i can apply for employment insurance benefits online. but since 4 yrs have pasted since i have worked there will i still be able to qualify for EI?

i thought you can qualify for EI if you got laid off no?

EI only applies if you were laid off, if you quit/fired you're SOL.

If you were terminated and it was not for misconduct you can still qualify.

But yes, 4 yrs is a little too late.

I believe the max amount of time you can apply is 8 months later.

Have you quit anything in the past 8 months?
