What's the advantage of getting Win Vista vs. WinXP for a new system?

Aero makes it all purdy and stuff. The backup feature is neat. And it is more secure. Aside from that, the main advantage is that its easier to pirate.

Direct X 10 and support for over 3GB ram with Vista X64. Otherwise there is no advantages and upgrade is pointless if you not gamer.

If it's a new system, you might as well go Vista. XP will last a while longer, but you'll have to get Vista sometime anyway, so no point paying for both.
