Best buy has the Garmin 750's on sale for 549.99 this week. I went to the store (markhem ville) because they said they had three on hand. After about 30 minutes of searching, they concluded that they did no have any in the store. I asked them to call Leaside (on the store system leadside had 10) I asked them to verify that Leaside actually had some on hand. Same deal, no 750's actually in store. Next call Warden and Eg, supposedly they have 4, call the store, they tell the clerk helping me, they don't have any available either. They then tell the the clerk who is making this call for me (and he is obviously just a holiday hire) that they will not be selling any of the 750's until boxing day. At this point, i've been there an hour and I'm now holding a flier that is showing the 750 on sale THIS week i'm clearly getting pissed. Clerk goes to find his manager.

clerk comes back an offers me the Nuvi 760 for $25 dollars more then the 750. Thats 125$ off resaled price of the 760.

i took the deal. I thought it was a great deal.

Someone else may want to try this, see if it pays off.

Nuvi 760 for $574.99.

Has anyone else heard of best buy or future shop holding items to sell for boxing day???

It is a YMMV tho

99% of mgrs would probably tell u to get lost or get other models without giving u any discount (that is if u can actually get to talk to them)

Should you not be able to get a raincheck?
Scuzzy advertising practice if you ask me
How can they make so many mistakes?

$574.99 is a very good price for the 760 in store. However, after GST + PST it is $655.49.

At www.gpscity.ca it is $599.99 + GST only + $10.59 to ship to Ontario so that price would total $646.58 which is not a lot cheaper.

However, you may also want to order a Garmin leather case for $16.95 which I could not find at Best Buy. Another interesting point is the new 750/760 doesn't come with an AC adaptor, only a car one. It will charge using USB or the car charger but it is nice to have an extra charger. The old 660/650s and the 350/360s came with an AC charger. Also, the 350/360s came with a leather case ( I don't know about the 660s). Cost cutting by Garmin!
