its too big to be a 780p

it's 720p, and no it's not too big. At a viewing distance <8 feet there will hardly be any difference. Some videophiles will notice, but most won't.

It's still cheaper than Costco's price ($1,800). The lowest the PX60 sold for recently was $1,350 during the 10% off friends and family sale.

Still an excellent TV with many great reviews from avsforums.

I bought the Panny on Dec 23rd, Costco was selling it for $1999, saw FS had it for $1499, the only one they had in stock was an open box, the sales guy gave me 4 yr warrenty plus $300 off the stand. TV is great, it has excellent reviews, it's a 2006 model, so FS probably won't be getting anymore. Yesterday I saw they had it on sale for $1199, went to FS and they gave me $300 back!

Do they still have it available at any location in GTA?

OMG, $1188 is a crazy price for this TV. I'll be checking out my local FS tomorrow and hopefully they don't have any. Because I'm not ready to buy just yet and would rather wait for a newer model Panny to go on sale. I hate the silver bezel and would prefer to wait for 1080p prices to drop a bit.

That being said if they have any in stock I might not be able to resist.

Pros: Price, Sharp picture with good detail
Cons: No picture-in-picture, no PC connectivity, lacks CableCARD slot

The $1,386 50" Samsung has PIP and PC input - $200 more, plus newer more modern model.
