On February 27, 2005, I purchased a (17" widescreen) Toshiba P30-RG1 P4H.

The computer has no damage, its in perfect working order and just the top (cover) is "worn off" slighly from regular wear & tear - nothing major/drastic. Obviously, its not going to be nice and shiny and perfect after being used. I actually havent used it much, though...(just been sitting there mostly).

For this laptop, I paid 1899.99+tax = $2165.99 and 399.99+tax for the Product Service Plan (yes, i know im a sucker >:( ) @ Future Shop in Scarborough, Ontario.

Realistically speaking, how much can I expect to get for this laptop today/what do you think would be a fair/decent price to ask?

Don't get me wrong, it's great--depending on ur needs--its just not great for me cuz im a student @ university and this thing is gigantic and im looking to get some cash and then get a macbook.

Honestly

For a non-Duo laptop
Inconvenient size
512mb ram
4200 rpm 60gb HD

You're not going to get much
Better off giving it to a family member and that way you don't get ripped off even more than FS already did

i realize that but i dont have anyone to give to, at all.

how little are we talking about here, $500?

surely, the price couldn't have de-preciated an entire 75% !

I don't even think you can recover the money you paid for the product service plan.
I think the problem is that it doesn't even perform as well as the new lowest end laptops and even used.

I agree with what other people are saying.

Your laptop is a NON Dual Core, 512MB of RAM, and a 4,200RPM Hard Drive.

It's hard to find even an entry level laptop with only 512MB of RAM, and a 4,200RPM Hard Drive.

Not to mention, a 17' isn't portable and it's heavy.

I would say you could get around $200/250, MAYBE $300, but closer to the $250 side.

Electronics, and especially Computers depreciate in value VERY quickly. For example, if you buy a laptop for $1200 w/ Tax @ FutureShop, and don't even open the box, when you go home and decide to sell it, you'll probably get $1000 for it.

I would sell it soon if i were you..... cause right now, that computer is still good for xp, but once they fix vista... thats it for that computer

Or.....you could try and upgrade the computer and sell it.... jack it up with lots of ram and swap for a larger hard drive....
