Okay....here is the story I originally had this problem here
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=528817

Turns out my power is fine as confirmed by a computer technician.

So why the hell my computer isn't booting up?

I bring the motherboard to computer tech service where I bought it.

He looks at it and says my computer does not work because the pins connecting the motherboard to the CPU are bent. He says i put the latch incorrectly securing the CPU bending the pins. When I think back about it...there is no way in hell i would have that...

Okay....i then look at the motherbaord sure enough the pins on the motherboard are bent slightly at an angle therefore I thought f'ed up.

So i buy a new motherboard. Pop in my CPU still my computer doesn't work. I look at the pins on my new motherboard and they are also slightly bent.

My questions are

1. For a relative new motherboard...are they pins connecting to the CPU supposed to be perfectly straight even after a CPU is put in it? Does any pressure from the latch securing the CPU bend the pins?

Is there any possible for a CPU to bend the bins of a motherboard given the fact it fits in properly?

Is the computer tech guy full of it?

My conclusion is my CPU is fried/faulty

NOTE I was able to boot to windows/install windows/format hard drive before it stopped working.

Any thoughts would be appreciated thanks!

On my socket 775 mobo, all of the pins are angled the same way and to the same degree (i.e. they are not perpendicular to the mobo). I find it highly unlikely that the cpu would have caused the pins to become bent in such a way as to damage the mobo.

Does the mobo make any beeps when you try to boot?

The original technician is full of crap.

But since you already changed the power supply (I didn't read the other thread), and now changed the motherboard, there only remains two items

Memory and CPU.

Swap out the memory and if you still have a problem, then you know your answer.

Keep in mind, if you have OCZ memory. The voltage is higher than standard memory and may not work with certian motherboards. Specificially Intel boards.

Thanks guys

Will my computer boot if i use zero memory at least to bios?

yes i do have ocz memory i don't think it is memory....

i had a gigabyte and now an asus motherboard.

i think it is the cpu...but when i did get it to boot.i checked the temp and it wasn't like super hot...only 35C

Can anyone else confirm those pins coming out of the motherboard are NOT perpendicular and slightly angled?

i also noticed really small black dots on the CPU on each gold pin. that is normal right?

Gee

The dots are from the contacts on the CPU socket. That is normal

The pins should be at an angle and when you drop the arm, the pins should make contact with the CPU.

So all is normal.

No.

There has been some feedbacks of OCZ brand incompatibility...

My computer did boot before.... although i had to keep turning off the power from the back and press power a few times. Not exactly what i wanted to do of course.

I have old DDR PC 5400 memory from my old comp.

can i use this to test it out?

nvm. don't think it even fits the motherboard.

PC-5400 Should be DDR2 so I think it still may be able to work...
