Hey, I was at a Home Depot in Mississauga this afternoon (Mavis & Dundas), and saw a Ryobi Display, with an 18v cordless Impact Driver for $90. I'm not sure how good a brand Ryobi is, compated to something like Dewalt, but the price is unbeatable in Canada.
I've been looking for an impact driver for the past couple months, and nothing comes close to this price. Canadian Tire's least expensive is a 14v at $200, and Black & Decker (which I wouldn't buy) has a poor quality one for $130.
I don't know if the price is only for this location or for all locations. Best of luck to you.

I have this driver and it is great for drilling screws and going into things like concrete, but don't expect it to be able to torque the lug nuts on your car. It is not powerful enough.
EDIT: As a side note $89 for the driver is pretty pricey when you consider they were selling the 9 piece 18v combo that included this driver and 8 other tools for only $149 about a month ago.
EDIT 2; Have you checked out Boss Tools. They always have good prices on stuff like this. http://www.bosstoolsupply.com/index.asp?PageAction=PRODSEARCH

is this the Ryobi ONE+ series? because if it is...it doesn't come with any battery...just bare tools..so u will have to buy 2 batteries with a charger...that will bring ur total up to $160+taxes instead...
btw...89.97 is their regular price...and for $160 u can get a Ridgid...much more powerful and better built quality...Ryobi is probably down there with Mastercaft and craftsman...which btw...u can get a craftsman 14.4V for around $70...includes impact driver, 2 batteries and a charger

I'm pretty sure these little packs to come with two batteries. It's the ONE+ series but these little guys come in their own little soft case with the batteries

Well I got the 14.4V unit from CT which is normally @ $249.99 (CT PART Number: 54-0070-4). They also have another at $199 [54-2859-8], but I'm not sure what the difference is.. Looks like just packaging, but I could be wrong. I bought it just before tire season, when it was on sale for $99. Then I had the $20 off of $40 or more when using the CT mastercard, so it cost me a whole $79.99 (pretty nice). Not bad in terms of price, and comes with a no hassle 5 year warranty. Kit includes cordless impact driver, Includes 1 hour diagnostic charger, two 14.4V rechargeable batteries, ½" square to ¼" hex adapter, 26-piece multi-purpose bit set, and blow-moulded case with slide-out accessory tray. The Batteries alone are worth more than that.
In terms of performance, it is NOT bad at all. You can get 4 tires with 5 nuts each, off and very well torqued on a single battery (assuming full charge). I did 10 tires (on the 2 batteries, I did 2 cars, and a mixup on 2 tires which I had to do twice since I forgot they were directional). Pretty nice... And battery goes from unuasable to fully charged in about 45 minutes, which is good. And it is a smart charger, so you are not worried about leaving the battery in the charger, it will stop...
Now, for the Ryobi one.. Not sure.. I got a Ryobi gas powered weed wacker, but that is about it... If I have the option for some basic CT maximum power tools, I prefer them for the no hassle warranty exchange (unless I am looking for some precision tools) when I'll look for something more high end..

Battery not included. Low torque rating.

the impact driver alone retails for $89.99. There was a special purchase a few weeks ago for the impact driver that included 2 batteries, charger and bag for $99

I don't think thats the same kit. Torque should be plenty enough... i've snapped the heads off #14 screws with my bosch and that's not rated that high either.

Hey all, I went to my Home Depot in Mississauga this afternoon (Mavis & Dundas) to double check for you. You are indeed correct about the $89.99 Impact Driver not coming with batteries or charger.
You are also correct about about the $99.99 Ryobi Impact Driver has a bag, 2 batteries & charger. I picked up one of these yesterday.
I took pictures of both displays on my cell phone, but I don't know if I am able to upload them to this forum (I only see a link for displaying a website image). Any help is appreciated.
The $99.99 display said 'while supplies last', so I don't know how long the price will be for.
Cheers

$99 is a sweet deal with batteries/charger and bag. I got the CT 10.8V LiIon for $69 with 2 batteries/charger and blow-molded case. It cranks out 850 in-lbs of torque, which is plenty for most jobs around the house.
I also got the Ridgid bare tool for $39.50 which cranks out 1490 in-lbs of torque, and it's an animal compared to the CT Maximum. Just be careful you don't over-drive the screw if you've never used one. And yeah, it will shear off screw heads if you hit a knot in the wood or hit concrete without drilling a pilot hole.
Good luck with your new tool!

I've used (and abused) this Ryobi impact driver for 1.5 years and it's been great. The best of the ONE+ tools and I own most of them. Also rated by Consumer Reports as a Best Buy.
