If anyone who would like to try the paperless boarding pass, be sure you also print a paper copy with you to save the hassle.

I know it defeats the purpose of "paperless". But I guess it's the best to be prepared - Print the dang boarding pass to avoid potential hassel.

When the computers are down, that printed out web check-in will reserve your seat.

Well, supposely, the mobile check in give you barcode via MMS.
I tried once, but I couldnt get the barcode on my iphone - pocketpc worked though.
Regardless, i'd rather get a paper copy whenever i can.

I flew with Westjet with the paperless boarding pass without any troubles. It was a 3 line email, no barcode to scan. It worked out well. I am sure it will be more seamless as more passengers choose to use that option. (Trust me, showing a 3 line email on my PDA seemed very sketch)
