Hello,

I just signed up with Teksavvy and need a DSL modem ASAP. Been through 2modems the 2Wire 2700 and both of them did not work. The green light will flash and then go to solid red and then flash but it would not stay solid and I cannot connect so I have decided to get speedstream or a working modem with teksavvy's service.

Please pm me if you have DSL modem that you would like to sell. I actually need 2 DSL modems.

Thanks.

borrow a modem and make sure u got the line up and running(properly). im with them as well and using a 5 year old or maybe older speedstream :)
watch out for 2 things 1-filters. the oens they sold me were pure crap, would get 100 k/s max. they sent me some odler oens afterwards and im on 300-500 k/s depending on time of day.
and 2- theyre changing teh service fees so go for the 40 dollar one if u dl a lot.

Remember that this is a full internal router, you can't connect it like a DSL modem and try to use dial up connection in your OS like a normal modem. You needed to fully setup the router first before using it. If you get all LED solid except for the last one, this usually shows that either taksavvy are not reading your user id and pwd or you are not reaching their ATM.

But as far as modem concern, all DSL modem will work regardless what brand and where you purchased it, no company will block DSL (actually ADSL) modem unlike rogers and their cable modem. (damn rogers). If nothing work I will suggest you to log into your 2wire router. From there you could go to the Broadband link and view your connection detail. From there you could do diagnosis to see if your error is a username thing or the dsl line thing. Sometime I could see that DSL Line is up but no ATM services, so it is not the line that is the issue but rather the service.

Also if you purchase them from Canada Computer as refrubished, then sometime they could connect but will drop the connection every 10 mins or so, I return 2 modem back to them before finding one that is stable. But once I found the stable one it work great every since only needed to reboot the modem maybe once every few months, actually more stable then some router I used.

Thank you for the tips, I should try to log into the 2wire modem, I havent done that yet. I did get connection once and it dropped right away so I returned that and got another one and that is not connecting at all. I also have the 5200 speedstream and that too is not working for some reason and thats the one I got from bell so I am completly lost. I have a feeling that I am doing something wrong and its something so minor but I cant figure it out. The way I am connecting is the phone line come right through the wall jack into the modem without any filters as that is what teksavvy told me to do. I also tried the filter as well, so putting filter in wall jack first and then straight into modem and it doesnt work.

Is it possible for someone to provide an explanation in steps if they have the same modem as to what they did for their setup so I can try that once home? Also, would it matter if I still have the speedstream 5200 modem which I found lying around in basement and I dont even know how old it is because the last time i had bell was like 2 years back and i probably didnt send the modem back, but will the speedstream still work?

Thank you so much for any input, greatly appreciated.
