I was wondering if anybody had any experience using a freight company or other means to have a vehicle imported from the US to Canada. I'm exploring the possibility of purchasing a vehicle from California or another west coast state. I think at that point, it would make more economic sense to have it shipped, rather than paying for one-way plane tickets then spending all that time and money driving back.

Has anyone done this before? Is the paperwork at the border normally handled by the company or by the person purchasing the vehicle? Are there any other considerations?

I was going to do it, was reasonable.
They do all the paper work at the border.
You need a brokering(is that a word?) company at the border, that's about $150.
From Cali, I would guess you are looking at about $3000.

Good website to check out is transportreviews.com

They have tons of transporting companies that will do it.

You can also talk to those tow truck drivers who tow 3-4 cars on a single bed across North America. My buddy's dad brought a Porsche in and it cost $1500 from Texas.
