View Full Version : CANtire: Is this a good deal for a Blender?

Old Blender died and I need a new one.
Looking for something that is good quality.
My last blender was an Oster and it lasted about 5+ years

The sale price of this blender ($129.99) is pretty much my cost limit.
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444330 0676&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396672137&bmUID=1196688496067&deptid=1408474396672082&ctgrid=1408474396672088&subctgrid=1408474396672137

I usually prefer glass jars that are easier to clean out highly scented smells (like when I blend up various herbs for my seasoning mix).

Also if anyone has comments on the quality of the blender or another blender that is also good quality, that would be helpful!

Thanks!

hey mgoram,

you can get good glass blenders for $29.99

even some funky ones. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513661&highlight=blender

my understanding is that the only good blender to spen money on is the vita-mix

and it is only cheap if you get it in the states.

Generally I want to stay away from cheaper blenders though.
I've worked in retail before and have had lots of customer returns with cheaper blenders that fail/break often.

Plus I've had one or two of my own as well.

Any other suggestions?

Hmm as fun as that sounds, the wife would not be amused :P

So no one has used KitchenAid Blenders before? Or even suggest another blender?

Can't suggest another blender, but I can suggest another store: Cayne's. You'll find much better prices than Cnd Tire.

Thanks, checked the site and actually the Cantire sale price of $129.99 is better.

Or even suggest another blender?

Checked epinions.com & looks like Oster makes some good blenders, looking at the ratings & also Hamilton Beach. KitchenAid did not look too good or at least did not have many ratings :| Of course they have the professional blenders, but those are kind of pricey.

Hope this helps :)

Just saw a Kitchen Aid blender at Real Cnd. Superstore on sale for $99. Not sure if it's the same model as the one you listed, but looks the same to me.

I got the B&D blender, stainless steel, with glass and metal tops, regular 99$ on sale for 49$ a few months ago. They go on sale quite often. I use it and love it.

If you're not in a hurry, wait.

Thanks both but I bought one already from Walmart.

I got the Oster Fusion. It has a metal drive, glass jar, 600 W, a better blade than the standard shape and nice flat buttons (easier to clean).

It was about $75 (not on sale). Just wanted something good and this seems to be it :)

i've had that one^ for about 5 years now, and love it. It goes on for 99.99 every so often if you're not in a big hurry and can wait for the sale.
