It is in my garage right now I am wondering if that is ok for the winter, it's pretty cold in there as it is not heated or insulated, will the cold damage it?

It is fine there. You make sure you empty out the gasoline. I do that for both of my lawnmower and snowblower (in Spring).

Yes it will be fine but do as Menace suggested. I've had both electric and gas mowers have to spend the winter outside under tarps and even then they were fine. Otherwise they were always in unheated garages with no issue.

just start the mower and let it run until it runs out of gas,
thats what I do.
Dont hang it from a hook or the oil will seep into the block and then u have a
real mess in the spring.
