I know for a fact that there are a lot of horror stories out there about people getting burned from leaving deposits, then never receiving their furniture. I would personally stay clear of some of these shady furniture operations and go to a more reputable retailer (Ikea for example). I'm not saying that all these smaller retailers are illegit, but sometimes you just need to go with your gut instinct.

This particular sale has been ongoing for months at this place. Stay away, scratch and dent product with no support.

Stan West's bankruptcy is not a sales tactic like some of the other year-round bankruptcy sales at other stores--they really went bankrupt, and there is some other company handling the selling off of their assets.
Having said that, I'd still stay far away from this mess. Maybe things have changed in the last few weeks, but this sale has been going on for an eternity because there are no deals to be had.

This bankruptcy sale has been going on for over a year. Everything is overpriced. No need to waste your time going there looking for deals. This type of sale reminds me of the sham that Benix has going on "Inventory Sell off, everthing must go!" which has been for like the last 15 years.

I hope someone can prove me wrong that this "sale" will still be expensive.Stay away. No selection, but worse, prices were and still are ridiculous. They're entitled to try & get as much as they can, but I can't imagine people paying what they're asking. You're better off hitting a Sears Clearance centre or at least 70% of the other furniture stores in the area.

In other hot news, a furniture store on Kingston Rd is having a "Going out for business sale".
Yes, you read that right. They have been going out for business for years.

Stanwest was and is a JOKE!! Holycrap they are overpriced on everything they have in their so called "bankruptcy" sale. The original owner Stan West declared bankruptcy along time ago and the contents of ALL his stores were bought out by BDO who is really taking people to the bank with their tactics!!!! I saw a Broyhill sofa that was tagged "SOLD" at Stanwest for $1899 and the exact same sofa at Sterling House Interiors (in Mississauga Home and Design Centre) for $1499!!! What gives!!??? And Sterling House would order you a BRAND NEW one , not the floor model like StanWest!!!!!
If you like the stuff that StanWest had I would definately take the time to check out Sterling House @ 2575 Dundas St. (right beside the LazyBoy store)! Great furniture (traditional to contemporary) but at very reasonable prices!!
