Hi guys,

just wondering what typical utilities/heating/water/sewage bills are for people in Calgary.

We are thinking of purchasing a home (have only been here for a few months) and would like to compile some data to project potential costs.

Looking for a house anywhere between 1000 to 2000 sqft so if you could list your square footage that would be really helpful aswell.

Thanks!

~150-175/month on average for everything... I have water/electric/ng on one bill. about a 70-100 in the summer months, 200-250 winter months. 2 people in a 1200 sqft duplex.

hope that helps

You might be able to get averages from the utility companies. There really are too many variables when it comes to size, insulation, number of people in the home, weather.

Meanwhile, you can probably count on $300/mo in winter and half that in summer. Any home you look into buying (if it's a resale) will have a history you can check.
