Hey i was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the best long-distance calling card out there to call Europe, specifically Macedonia. Telus charges $2.86 between 10am-6pm and $2.00 from 10pm-6-am. Rogers charges $0.48 per minute from a landline, Yak's rate is $0.45 and i bought a calling card (Blast) that gave me 21 minutes for $5 which is the best deal but is there any other brands of calling cards that are better? Please let me know! Thanks!!!

I use Babatel.com (Direct Dial). As per their rate sheet, if you were to call a Macedonian landline it's ony $0.139/minute and if a Macedonian Cell Phone its $0.399/min. I like babatel as I can recharge my account online via Paypal or thru my TD account. Secondly, they don't charge you any taxes. I know someone who uses G3 Telekom and when they recharge $20, they get billed for $22.80. At babatel, If you recharge $20, then you only get charged $20. Their US and Canada rate is $0.025/min

Have a look at http://www.ontariophonecards.ca

I buy all my cards from them. I only call Canada and the US, but they have some good cards on there with good rates and reviews. All information you need for the card is emailed to you seconds after the payment is received.

Have a look at their FAQ page, there is a lot of good information there.

I now use Pingo.com

Just bought a $20 USD phone card with “student1″ coupon.
I got $5 sign up bonus + $2 from 10% off + $10 from GCR

I know this is an ancient thread (I ended up here via google) but no, they're not all relatively the same rates. At ThePhoneCardStore.ca, rates to call Ireland (as an example, since that's what I buy my cards for) their rates range from 2.5 cents/minute to 4.9 cents/minute. That's a huge difference!

I have got cards at Asian groceries at a discount off the face value. The hard part is reading all the posters with phone rates on the wall and decide which one you want. :cheesygri
