Well to make a long story short, I bought the 8800gt and it wont work with my old PC. So i need a new one built around the 8800gt.

Currently the things that I have are my old SATA hard drive that i'm planning to resuse and the 8800gt video card.

Right now I'm not sure how much I want to spend.. but nothing too pricy.. I was thinking of getting this cpu to start things off http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=22211

Some advice on what to get such as mobo, psu, heatsinks, tower case, etc. will be great!
I need all the help i can get.. I'm still a newbie when it comes to building pcs :)

Also I don't mind spending slightly more for things that can be reusable such as the PSU.

Yup.. that's a good build.. and since he already has the 8800 GT, that brings it within his budget. Don't need those 2 drives either.. brings it down to $650.

would any ATX case work with that Asus P5K mobo?

that looks okay, but I would prefer a more powerful pc

More powerful?

Swap the CPU for a Q6600, and the HDD for a Raptor 150.

Edit: Nevermind heh..

Case
Antec P-series (P180, P182 etc)

HSF
Ninja or Ultra-120 Ultra
