Can anyone confirm the $499 laptop, and perhaps the $399 Pc?.I know its MDG, but it still seems like such a good deal, wondering if theres a catch.

thats one issue, for both they don't specify the actuall processor (3.0ghz P4 is quit different than 3.0ghz celeron), and for the laptop don't even give the clock speed.

Even a 3.0GHz P4 is garbage.. Dell has the AMD Mobile CPU Notebook for $399 right now, USA ONLY

Edit:
Nevermind that deal's dead.

The laptops are Acers so shouldn't be too bad, however, I doubt that the $499 laptop is going to have better specs or support than the $499 Vostro 1000. The desktops really should be avoided unless you're an avid gambler and happen to feel lucky today...

even if it's not MDG, still pretty crappy specs imo, intel mobile processor probably means some Pentium M which is way too outdated, same with the desktop, I mean cmon it costs $15 to upgrade ram to 1GB? A few more months later a piece of 1GB DDR2 ram will drop to approximately that price.

If you want something with that kind of specs, buy a Dell.
