GPS tracking??

Hi,
Just wanted to know the alternatives out there for gps tracking. Preferably using google maps. The only device I've found so far is the SPOT tracker...Yearly cost of 150US is an issue.

There are cell phones with GPS but does having GPS on a cell phone reduce the battery life of the phone significantly? What do I need to do to track a cell phone's GPS on google maps? I'm looking for cheap mobile alternative, which doesnt drain batteries. Thanks,

There's "Seek and Find" from Bell ($5/mo, free trial). It uses a regular Bell cellphone (no battery drain):
