From imdb: "21" is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings.

I remember watching a video/show or seomthing like this back in the early-mid 90s back in highschool about this.
These kids got black-listed in alot of casinos and it was not 100%, as they could still lose alot of money if one slight error occurs, which i believe did happen and got the team to stop.

Sorry to bump an old movie thread, but I just saw this flick this evening.
I have to say, despite the mediocre reviews, I was pretty impressed. While not as good as rounders (the best card movie bar none), this film had an awesome soundtrack, and really stirred up emotion in me.
The characters were excellent, with top honors going to kevin spacey, he nailed the arogant prof role perfectly, and does a pretty good southern hick to boot. The rest of the cast jives really well too. Great to see Lawrence Fishbourne in an ass kicking role again as well.
If you have been to vegas, you know the 'vibe' you get there, from the first drive up the strip, to hitting the floor, to hitting it big (even just a little big) to the blah feeling when you get back home. The film catches these moods perfectly.
If you like gambling movies, vegas movies, or just playful hip flicks, it is very much worth the watch.

would you say that it's as good as the the ocean series?

Cast is not quite as good as Oceans 11, but the soundtrack is on par with it or better depending on your tastes. Worlds better than Oceans 12, haven't seen 13 yet, I have it but have not had time to watch it yet.
It's a different kind of movie than the oceans series, Rounders is as close to a film I can think of comparing it to...
