Buying in the states.... 24 hour rule?

So we are going to the states for black friday.... but we can only stay 24 hours, so we will probally have to pay duty etc...

I have never done this before, so all in all... what kind of savings can be expected?

The product I am interested is the tom tom one... it will be on sale for 120 american (retails for 270 cdn approx)... after it is all said and done, what will it cost me approx?
