I heard this from radio this morning. Probably, old news already. The story is something like this. Andy Lau was singing in his concert. A fans wanted to give him flowers. Andy's hired security guards took this fans away and beat him/her up in the corner. Andy stopped singing jump from the stage, punched his own security guards and rescue this fans. The video is supposed to be in youtube but I could not find it. Does anyone have a link of this?

Andy really cares about his fans, and that's why he is so famous + his acting.

actually Andy is so talented that he kept singing while punching the security guard.
If you look closely at the video, his punches are in rhythm with the beats!

a lot of HK celebrities have some sort of connection. Like how Stephen Chow isnt able to immigrate to Canada because of possible ties with the triad. i believe it was rumored that Andy got some roles early on in his career with some triad influence, or perhaps just worked with production companies owned by triads.

Andy Lau is awesome...too bad it's hard to see what's happening since the only person you can make out after the flowers is Andy in white.

Well, considering that Andy Lau had close ties with Charles Heung many years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if Andy Lau had been associated with the triads at one point or another. But it doesn't mean that he was actually in the triads.
Word on the street is, he starred in an old Hong Kong movie called "Hong Kong Godfather" which was produced by triad gangs. He was forced into starring in the leading role of this specific movie.

Good for him. So many security guards are idiots going on a power trip. I hope he got his ass kicked.

It is not everyday a rich/famous entertainer will risk his own live and rescue his own fan. Andy is the best.

Just watched the video and that is pretty f*cking cool. Not many celebs would come to the rescue and beat on the security guards to save a fan. It really shows how much he really cares about his fans and why he's the best

Why are we discussing his probable triad connections in a thread like this??
I commend him for standing up for his fans and take such personal actions. Though it is VERY dangerous and ill advised on the part of management.
I hate rent-a-cops, they stick their nose everywhere thinking they're really bad ass.
Though one must wonder if the fan in question did or say anything to provoke such response from security? Just trying to see things from both sides.

that's because being too close to fans could lead to unforeseen consequences
"Hong Kong movie star, Andy Lau, known to Western audiences for his leading role in Zhang Yimou's House of the Flying Daggers, has been embroiled in a stalker saga that recently turned tragic.
28 year-old Yang Li-Juan, the daughter of a retired middle school teacher, dropped out of school at the age of sixteen to become a full-time Lau fan. If that wasn't strange enough, Yang Li-Juan's parents decided to sell their family house in Gansu, a province in northwestern China, move into a rental, and squander their life savings in order to support dream to one day meet Lau in person - and her pilgrimages to Andy Lau events in Beijing and Hong Kong. Yang Li-Juan's father even tried to sell his kidney to fund her third trip to Hong Kong.
After years of dreaming, Yang Li-Juan finally met Lau at a March 25th birthday event organized by his fan club and even got to take a photo with the action star. But she wasn't satisfied, having hoped for the chance to meet Lau in private.
The following day, Yang Li-Juan's 68 year-old father drowned himself. In a letter, he accused Lau of being cold and insensitive for refusing to give his daugher a private meeting. There are rumors Yang Li-Juan is seeking compensation from Lau for her father's suicide."

I don't think it was because Andy Lau was close to the fans that caused that. That family is nut and bear 100% of fault. I do not see any wrong doing in Andy Lau's part at all. I don't see any artist (that is good enough to have fans) can do better.

That family went postal before the stupid girl met Andy Lau.

If this is the case, he should be smarter than that. He can pay both the security and the 'fans' to have a complete show.

Read HK actress Winnie Leung for details.
Her blog entries are roughly translated by me. (and yes, there are full details about the event. Andy was extremely pissed that night)

Here's the translation from that site about what happened:
Staff: comments: It was at the end of his concert. Once it had gotten to the fourth songs, a male fan rushed in to the stage carrying flowers. There were 2 metal gates in front of the stage. There were over a dozen security guards at the gate. They don't even do anything. They just stood there to watch him in concert. The fan was able to jump through the gates and ran to the front of the stage. Then, he stood by the speakers to hand flowers over to Andy. It was apparent that the guards weren't doing their job. Frustrated in anger, the security guard grabbed that fan and began a fistfight with him. Security guards from other areas soon rushed in to join. Andy saw dozens of security guards gang up for the fight from the stage and immediately ordered them to stop. However, security guards fought without any reason or logic. Seeing that the situation became so urgent that he jumped down from the 2.2 metre high stage and pushed away some of the security guards, but the guards who ganged up on his fan never stopped the assault. Andy Lau immediately punched the security guards and damanded that they stop the assult. It was at that time when other staff members came over to the scene. The situation had already become very rampant. You can see that Andy Lau was extremely angered. Staff members surrounded the security guards to calm Andy down and prevented him from getting even angrier & making the situation get any worse. Andy then escorted the assaulted fan to his backstage from getting any more harm done to him.
****
Anyways, good for him. No wonder he has such rabid fans.
