Order a pair of video cards. Free ground shipping took less than a week to Calgary.

The reason I ask is because they didn't ship the stuff I ordered from them 10 days before NCIX had that 500 points free ground shipping, so I cancelled order and PM everything with NCIX and save myself some shipping.

I ordered some stuff last night from DC and hopefully they are better this time around....they used to be pretty good, same day shipping if I order stuff before noon EST but degraded after summer this year, 3/4 days before they ship and last time they didn't ship at all.

Wondering if anyone has insider news about what's going on, I suspect NCIX build up these other web retailer....DC, TDdirect, NXsource etc to sell to some other party.

DC was very quick shipping.

When was that?

My present order (placed Sunday night) is still at "shipping address verified" stage, hopefully they'll ship it tomorrow otherwise I may have to contact them since I have a motherboard but no cpu.

I was doing a search on them and landed here, thought I'd register just to tell you how bad they are. I ordered more than $300 worth of hardware at the start of the month, to take advantage of free shipping. Payment went through no problems, got the email, could log in and see account status. Okay.

Site said to expect 1-3 days on order processing depending volume, so the days go by. And they go by. I decide to send them a support message, because the site recommended this if you were looking for an instant response. I send one, and wait. More days go by, no response. I send a mail to info@directcanada.com instead. I get annoyed, and try calling. First attempt - phone number doesn't exist. Second attempt the next day - voice mailbox is full. Third attempt two days after that - placed on hold listening to ****** muzak, with no response for an hour.

TEN DAYS after placing an order, and paying for it, some guy emails me back saying he did a search on my name and found nothing. Thats it. Nevermind the fact that I can log in, see all my information, this guy is either claiming I don't exist or is too lazy to try searching by the email I used in the first place. I respond with a copy and paste of the entire order screen, with order ID, totals, payment, everything. Two more days go by, its twelve days after I placed my order and it finally gets processed.

Now, you're probably thinking I said something like "whew!" - wrong. I log in to check status, and indeed, the order is processed. But now the little box where it says "Product Availability" and "Shipping" remains unchecked. I also see a new entry, two separate shipments one in the Vancouver warehouse, and the other in a Toronto warehouse as "pending". From all the bad reviews directed at this store that I found these last few days (most of them kind of start within the last two or three months), there seems to be several people who placed their order while the item was in stock, only to find out later that there wasn't any.

So I go back to the site, I see all the items I bought are still listed as In Stock, and the live stock counter (which only exists on one of the items, for some reason) shows several hundred parts in the warehouse. So right now, I'm hoping that isn't a complete fabrication on their part. If it is, I can expect a two week delay. Never mind you that free ground shipping in most cases will be 10-14 days in addition. So assuming nothing goes wrong hereon out, the soonest I will probably get my stuff is 22 days after ordering it, or in time for Christmas if something does.

Don't buy from directcanada.com, you might get a deal at reasonable delay, or you might get completely boned. There isn't enough of a price difference to justify the hassle, because by the time you get your stuff, all other retailers would have adjusted their prices by a few dollars thus negating the whole deal.

This is an update....

They had shipped my package last week via Fedex overnight which was good and they also took the time to contact me and offered me free shipping for my next order which I just did.

This is what I call Customer service, now DC is back on top of my list for computer hardware.
