I understand Family Guy is a comedy cartoon and contains many random, or even offensive plots. However, I find some of the messages in Family Guy inspirational. I'm talking about those revelations and realizations at the end of some the episodes. Some of those messages are so simple and basic but yet, easily forgotten because of their simplicity. Sometimes they give me big spank on the back of my head and wake me up.

Any take on this?

family guy is one of my favorite shows.. though i know quite a few people don't like it, and some find the humour very offensive. i wouldn't say it's inspirational, but i think sometimes the lessons they try to teach are valuable. i'm in a long term relationship with my gf and i can honestly say that some of the episodes i have watched have made me change my attitude towards some aspects of our relationship. i don't watch this show for the moral lessons or whatnot.. it's purely entertainment for me, but it's nice to see that there are SOME things that you can pull out of this show if you don't like the humour.

Yep, one line from this show has impacted me to who I'm with today.

Peter: Meg, you're what they call a "practice girl"

No joke. :cheesygri

I watch it for entertainment purposes. Offensive, yet humorous.
Hmmm, I can't think of any esp. from the top of my head, that I think it was inspirational. Maybe, a theme, is that they are a dysfunction family, they go through some sort of crisis, that brings them closer together. The moral is, family is important!

if you're looking for inspirational type stories in a cartoon, look no further than the simpsons seasons 1-9. Not only are they hilarious, but they know how to do a story properly. Seasons 1, 2 and many other episodes are full of this sentiment.

I agree with the simpsons 1-9, way better than family guy and would like to raise with south park.

South park seasons 1-10...all amazing full of satire with current issues and comentary.

I love it.

I think that south park started to focus more on current events somewhere between season 5 and 6. Like that point onward, they started a lot of controversy because they started touching on religions etc and not just random "potty" humor

Does anybody else get the sudden urge to kick Hank Hill's ass? What a jackass. What I did enjoy was Cotton always picking on him, but too bad that has come to an end.
