not sure if this is hot, but we all know books have 2 prices listed on them: CDN$ and US$.
if you wanted to buy a book in canada, and not be ripped off due to the xchange rate, can you exchange CDN$ to US$, go back to the book store and buy it at the US$ price?
if you can, that would be SUPER HOT!
if you can't then NVM.

Not really since you'd still have to deal with the difference in price between CDN and US on the cover.
NG predicts this thread will end up in shopping discussion.

the dollar is so strong that you get more US$ back and the price $US is very low, but what difference is this that you're speaking of.

No, you can't unless the stores specifically saying they allow it. I believe Walmart said they allow you to pay Canadian dollar for the US price.

whenever a cashier pushes the button for US currency all that happens is it takes the total CDN pric and converts it to US, that is all.
If you want to pay US list than go to amazon.com

Chapters/Indigo had a sign up by their cash that they will accept US currency but it would be put towards the CDN rate on the book. This was a couple weeks ago - this may of changed since Wal Mart modified their policy.
