Not yet. Its a fairly densely populated residential area. So i imagine this is just someones out door cat that decided to park its butt @ my door step.... for a very long time.

Serious Note - Call Animal Control if the cat won't go away by tomorrow. I wouldn't worry about it being cold outside...cats have a lot of fur and if it was cold it wouldn't be out in the open in your backyard...it would try to find shelter.

OP, I think you should help the poor cat out while you contact its owner or look around the area for assistance.

Since you own a cat and know how to watchover a cat, I think its better for you to keep the cat in a stable location with good care. It's been cold these days and to protect animal's cruelty, I suggest you keeping it in door. :razz:

If you turn him into an animal shelter they will probably youthenize him within 24 hours. Our family has taken in total 5 cats. Hopefully you can help find him a home or at least give him food and water. With winter coming he shouldn't be outside for too long. I hope this will have a happy ending!

This cat visits all the time still. but s/he always goes back home, so i know it isnt lost or anything =). The cat started visiting again since the weather is warmer.
So i guess it just likes hanging around @ my back yard since i pay attention to it...

It actually knows some pretty good tricks.
Whenever you tap something it will follow the tapping noise no matter WHERE it is ... so you could make em jump onto ledges chairs, and it will jump from chair to chair (as long as its confident it can clear the distance) as long as you tap on it.

Whenever i bend down and tap my porch it will run up to where i tap and just sit there.
So im guessing this cat associates tapping as a "come here" command.
