Hi

I am living in residence in university and the ligthing used is all white light... and this room in particular doesnt have lighting on the ceiling (yeah, i know)

Anyway... it feels like my eyes are getting worse... things are blurrier and my eyes also get tired/strained

Could this be related to the white light or just poor lighting in general?

Thx

Maybe you just need glasses?

You maybe need to focus on things varying distances away. People who use computers, their eyes are focused on one distance for hours. Look around every so often.

you need to exercise your eyes more.

Practice squinting and focusing...........that should strengthen your eyes....

Also try reading with low lights, should strengthen your eyes more....

LOL. Exercise your eyes? Squinting and focusing? Common, are you serious? When you look at something NEAR, your ciliary muscles in your eye are contracting and this is called accommodation. When you grow old (the old people hear will agree) you can't see as near as well - presbyopia. I'm guessing you're young since you said you're in residence. Maybe you're becoming myopic :)

After reading for a while, my eyes also feel tired and painful. I usually use hot towel to cover my eyes and it can help the muscles near my eye to relax. Recently, i found out that the hot steam generated by humidifier also help to ease the pain. Just be careful don't get too close:)

I got the same problem and bought a bright lamp, I think you're not seeing well because not enough light is entering your eyes.

The trick is to force your eyes to use a dif focal point. You can do this by wearing a weak pair of glasses and forcing your eyes to adjust to a dif point.

1. Read with lots of light.

2.Keep the book parallel to your face so your eyes are not having to do slight focus adjustments as you read down the page.

3. As you turn pages, think, whatever, look at something far away to force your eyes to refocus at a longer distance.

4. Break up your reading with other activities.
