Hubby called me about 45 minutes ago about his building being evacuated! Eeek

It's one of the busiest streets in the city. And on Friday, you couldn't get to it. The intersection of Front St. west of John has been closed off after reports of a suspicious package being found in the area.

The building involved, located at 325 Front St. West, has been evacuated as a precaution as the Emergency Task Force and the Bomb Squad go in to take a look around.

Most of these incidents turn out to be either hoaxes, pranks or misunderstandings. But authorities aren't taking any chances. Traffic in the immediate area has already begun to back up as motorists seek alternate routes.

Police aren't saying much about their probe, but drivers heading out from work are being advised to avoid the area.

Good Luck getting home this afternoon if you're on Front Street.

I'm at 277 Front and this is what I've been hearing from coworkers. Basically there's a suspicious package in the Symcor mail room...they've blocked off the streets and called in the bomb squad. That's all I know right now.

Hell no it doesn't. I've worked in that building, but not in the mail room. If this was a regular occurrence, and if it was serious, all employees in the building would be notified to evacuated. You sir (and I use the term loosely), are a liar.

They evacuated because of a clock. False.."alarm".
