Hey there,

I'm in my last year at film school and I'm art directing a short which I'm required to build a convenience store from the ground up. I'm working on a very tight budget (student) so if you can donate the following or offer them at a reasonable price, that would be fantastic!

- Aisle shelves (like the ones you'd see at a convenience or department store)
- Pinball machine (doesn't have to work but if it does, the better)
- Arcade machine (same as pinball)
- Mac SE or Plus (the ancient macs)
- Slushee machine
- See-through top freezer
- Lottery ticket kiosk stuff
- Cigarette shelves
- Cash register

Please get back to me asap.

Thanks!

Have you approached a small variety store? They may let you use it.

I second this, go to a couple stores with your treatment, ask to speak with the owner, tell them what your looking for, what you want to do, and give them a copy of your treatment. Don't be afraid to ask for some help, offer to do your shooting at non-peak hours/days or when they are closed if at all possible, you are very likely to find some helpful small business owners.

When I was down in Windsor we shot in a number of retail locations (and even a restaurant all day after breakfast saturday and sunday) people were very helpful in and around the Windsor area when you told them you were doing a student film. (Get ready for gawkers and some stupid comments while you are shooting - unless it's a closed set/location - cameras seem to attract these idiots for some reason).
