I am going to go shopping in Washington this weekend. Does anyone from Vancouver have tips on how to get across the border as fast as possible.

I believe there's a highway that runs along both sides of the border. You just jump the median and bob's your uncle (until the border cops come chasing you).

Is that your planned route in to visit your buddy Bush?:D

I wouldn't be surprised if the lineups start by 8am on Friday morning. Go earlier. If you can't go till Sat think even earlier (like 5am or better).

Interesting ... its already 40/50 minutes southbound.

It also might be faster via langley/abbotsford.

If you go across the border often, take a look at Nexxus?

how about getting out of your car, run up and down the road with holding a few highways flares all the time yelling "praise allah lalalalalala!!". That should get you processed quite quickly.

Just slip the customs officer a dime bag. You'll go straight through.

No real responses from anyone? There must be slower crossings, better times of the day to go etc.

whatever it is you want in the US i suggest you just order it online and ship it to yourself. You'll save time, gas and money. and no headaches!

Peace Arch is okay for Bellingham since it's not that far, but if you're planning to go further than Bellingham, don't take the Peace Arch. Other crossings are a bit further, but you can probably make up for it in how fast you get across and how fast you drive ;-)

For your NEXT visit - you can check the lineups at various times/days here:
