thats false...we would save like a few dollars worth of electricity a year since most people only use it once in a while for short periods to look up deals, theres the black version of google, it tells you how much electricity has been saved but when you convert it it turns out to be nothing compared to other ways we could save...without having to squit to read web pages

WRONG...for LCDs. It is cheaper to display white for LCDS than blacks.
Your statement is correct for CRTs though. But...it is better to actually turn off all the friggin lights and equipment that are left on in the work places after work. I can't believe all that stuff that people just leave on when they go home. What is worse is they do that on Fridays too...
