I never knew these existed till I visited Lululemon with the gal and they gave her receipts stapled without those tiny metal staples. Now if only more retailers used this method!

They seem to "staple" pretty good but it just seems more secure and safe using metal staples, especially with important documents. But it's a neat idea/device nonetheless!

Besides the obvious, recycled paper, what are some other eco-friendly office supplies that I should look out for?

You can get these for a couple of bucks from dealextreme.com. Also lots of local shops here have them.

While they're a fun diversion, IMO the don't replace real staples. They just don't have the holding power. You can hold 4-5 pieces of papter together with it, but once it has been thrown around your house or office a few times the "staples" give away.

Want he most eco-friendly office supply that is poorly utilized? The laptop computer. If everyone in NA would stop printing out goddamned powerpoint presentations and review documents to bring to meetings, and instead just bring their laptop and read them off the screen, we would save so many millions of tons of paper...

Makes me cry every time I see some person i our office bring in a 40-50 page powerpoint document to a meeting when we all have laptops - not to mention the frigging thing is up on the screen anyway.

My favourite is when my office co-workers print off every single email they get not matter how pointless it is. The best is when they print off SPAM.

When back to school started I looked everywhere for recycled lined paper but only found blank. Even posted on RFD looking for some. Any one know where for when I need to buy more in the GTA?

I still see lazy people in the office throwing out files with paper clips and the large black clips... why can't people remove and reuse these before trashing/shredding their old files? SHEESH!

BTW I love the stapleless staplers! I gave out a couple of the Crayola ones during back-to-school this year!

stapling is the highlight of my day at the office.
