I've decided I'm going to get an energy audit done on my 40+ year old house.

Does anyone have any recommendations on who to use or avoid in the GTA?

Cheapest I found was AmeriSpec. $300 + GST for first visit, and $150 + GST for second visit. And they fill out the forms for you to get $150 rebate back from the government.
