Is there a way to make the "Hot Deals" forum for members only?
There seem to be a lot of guests on that forum and I get annoyed thinking that they are scooping up the good deals.
They can go everywhere else as far as I care, but that forum is special and where all the best deals are.
Thanks

That forum attracts the most number of people. People (guests) don't frequent RFD to visit the Off-Topic section, they Probably visit it because of the hot deals section.
RFD would lose A LOT of website hits and exposure if it required people to sign up first before viewing.
Also, what's to stop "lurkers" from doing this anyway? People sign up, never sign out and just visit the hot deals section anyway without posting anything.
I know where you're coming from (getting screwed by those who don't contribute to the forum), but honestly imposing a restriction will never happen.

NOT MUCH...however, there's a significant percentage who just wouldn't even bother signing up just to lurk .

I would give lurkers only access to the "expired deals" section. So they can see what they are missing..

Haha, so true! Yeah lurkers can be annoying, but we can't do anything about it. Sometimes (actually getting more often as I am more busy with work) I miss a deal because it is now OOS or the shelves are bare, it is annoying but that is life.

Actually, I have one already. It's good for cutting down bushes ;)
You might want to get yours checked out, looks like it might have PD (power dysfunction) :cheesygri

+1 to making the Hot Deals members only. There should be incentive for people to sign up :)

We should also make RFD hot deals a leecher free zone.
Meaning, members should have XX # of posts before they can actually access Hot Deals. (no bash pl0x)

have posters put weblinks and such in code boxes and make code boxes only viewable if you are logged in, topic titles will still be there and a lurker can still go to say staples and search for the deal themselves but RFD members will be getting them first. it would work great for those dell hidden deals that you cant really search for.
