Staples has the Acer Aspire 9300 Notebook Computer for only $600 before coupons. That is a pretty good price drop from two weeks ago. Good as desktop replacement if you want a 17" screen. Could use more memory, but has 120gb hard drive. Best part is that it is in stock.

Yeah, I bought an Acer with Vista and 512 MB of RAM. It took forever to load, and the hard drive trashed continuously. I now have XP on it and it is fine

ice cold! I bought my Acer Aspire 5570z for 500$USD at a US bestbuy a few months ago... and even that was warm considering the other deals going on south of the border (I'm thinking of the 250$ laptop at BestBuy that was featured over at fatwallet...)

this should be priced at not more than $400(even $300)
i bought mines over a year ago for $699.
FS had the dual core version for $699 just a month back. might still be in stores.
Funny how so many experts are able to say that this isn't a good deal and they had nothing to say when it was first posted by someone else, less than two weeks ago for more than $800.

I guess you all can post a better deal for a 17" screen laptop? I am trying to post a deal that some people might be interested in and all I see are negative people who are taking cheap shots to boost their own self-esteem.

I agree, it's a good deal for a 17" notebook, we posted it earlier today:

RAM is cheap right now too so pick up another stick and add it in.

Thanks for the deal.
But what cheap shots? Almost everything said so far (low ram, slow speed single core) are valid complaints.
