I heard that this addon can be used on the PC as well, since it's usb...now whether you might need 3rd party driver is another story.

It should work on a pc (for now, until hdcp becomes required) if you buy hddvd playback software. (~$100)

Any chance they would allow the 5 free movies to be claimed in Canada on a US bought drive?

the player works on PC no problem
believe it or not microsoft included drivers for this in windows update!

you will need a playback software tho....powerdvd ultra plays both hd dvd and bluray

Sorry, I cant find the exact link, but I know at least for the 5 HD-DVD's they have the offer in canada too, I think they are different movies though and you have to pay $10 dollars CDN for shipping, but meh. its still a wicked deal

I just called the 1-888 number to do this deal and they are telling me that the free Heroes DVD set was a misprint but if I were to take the flyer into the store I would be able to get the deal. That sucks!!!

In store, this promo has a pricing error.

You get the 360, Heroes Season 1, king kong (in the box) AND the 2 free titles...

however the error in the system allows for BOX SETS to be chosen as the free titles (Planet Earth, Matrix Triolgy, etc)

Wonder how long it will take them to catch on?

Ship it to a UPS store then get them to ship it to you for a 5 dollar handling fee. + cost of shipping it to you vs air so there is no broker fee.

Well I guess it depends on who you talk to. The lady was able to give me the free Heroes dvds but not the others. At least I can still get the 5 free dvds with the mail in offer.

Just out of curiosity... when they emailed you the order confirmation does it just show the dvd player or does it also have the Heroes DVD set listed in the shipment.

Sometimes I wonder if these call centre people know what they are talking about! I just called again about the additional free DVDs and he told me to take my receipt into a store and they will honor it. I guess they disabled the ability to mark down those dvds last night so now it has to be done in the store.

Funny how some honour and some don't. I just went today to Best Buy in Bellingham, WA and got the deal no prob. The till actually did it without intervention. The XBox HD DVD player came with King Kong, also got Heroes box set, Bourne Identity and 300 (last copy).. All for 179 + tax.

I have had call centre for Rogers in ONTARIO tell me oh we owe that they wont refund me the tax on the $200 overcharge because once you pay tax its gone forever ...

Just an update... called the number and they have put through my order for the Heroes DVDs. Funny that they had to do it seperately. Anyways... for anyone who did this deal over the phone make sure you keep an eye out for that. As for the other 4 dvds looks like that has to be done in store.

the deal works in store. if you are picking up in store make sure you order online and mark for pickup or you won't get 300. I ran into that snag but got Heroes and 2 others. my brother lives in el paso he went and did it for me an hour ago.

I did this in store in Michigan (Fort Gratiot/Port Huron).. They had the drive on a table in the middle of the store, with some other Game stuff. Took that one, as I couldn't see anything anywhere else..

over on another forum, people were getting box-sets in place of the 2 regular movies. I tried it - and it didn't work. I also didn't get 300.. It wasn't in stock, and they had "never heard of the promotion".

I got the print out for the free HD-DVD's... I called the number, and they said if I don't have a physical US Address (I only have a PO Box) that I could use the Canadian form - and submit it that way...

I need to call and re-verify.. Spent $191, got $160 free(Heroes/Knocked Up/Blades of Glory).

Also - this ends today.. so deal is pretty much dead in store..
