What is the best place to get a NAS enclosure in Canada? Most of the major online sellers (Anitec, NCIX, etc.) seem to have lots of enclosure sbut few / none with NAS. FS / Staples either. There have *A FEW* overpriced external drives with network capability, but I just want an enclosure.

All I want is a simple enclosure that allows me to share files with SMB. Note it has to be SMB - no drivers required on other PCs. This is because I need to be able to access it from my Xbox as well.

How come I can find so many of these enclosures on eBay for < $40 but none in Canada?

I think you missed the "best price" part. I don't see anything on either of those for less than $60. Not looking to pay more than $40 here. No justification for these things costing so much.

You can't fork out the extra $2.64 for the Vantec at Direct Canada?

The best price is to use an old PC and put Linux server in it. And I won't go for cheap enclosures as the ventilation in those ones usually not good and will cause problem with your hard drive later on.

Problem with that plan is it ends up costing yo about $10 a month on your power bill vs. a simple enclosure - much worse idea over the long run.
