I like New York Sub...not sure if you'd consider it cheap at $7-8 for a large sub (its more like a wrap) but its really filling and tasty. I like to order my stuff extra spicy.

There are a couple of good roti places just east of Bathurst on Queen (Real Albert's if I'm not mistaken). Go down to King & Bathurst on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday to the Wheat Sheaf (oldest tavern in Toronto) for 1/2 price chicken wings.. :D Or keep going west on Queen just past Strachan to Oyster Boy for some good oysters.. There's also a KFC east on Queen near Augusta east of Bathurst. Chinatown is not too far off either.

albert,s rotis are not good they are dalpuris which the buy from a lady from guyana and heat in the micro. Two days old roti are good for some but and for all. hot hot roti are the best. bust up shot, or paratha , or roti are the same.Try the roti and potato curry at eastern twist bathurst&st.clair

Ghandi's!!!!!!
Just east of Queen/Bathurst on the North side of the street. Just past the far-from-pc life-size Native America statue outside the Cigar store.
Fantastic Indian Roti -- my favorite is the spinach and paneer. Huge and really affordable. Sooooo yummy...
....I wish I had one right now :(
really, can't recommend them enough.
