Last week out of the blue I bought The Jungle Book 40th Anniversary Platinum Edition (Future Shop Exclusive Steelbook)

Disney's DVDs are not cheap but I have a feeling that this is a rip. You can buy non-exclusive (without steel case) version in US for $15 to $20, and I paid $27.99 for this version. I bought Cinderella 2 years ago for $22 and still think that's a better deal.

Just want to know what you guys think. Is the steel case version worth the 28 bucks?

You have to compare the local prices. Amazon.ca sells it for $26, so $28 for the metal case isn't too bad. I would probably pay the $2 difference for the steelbook, but not everyone would.

You can get the R3 two-disc version for $18USD at CDWow, so if you want to pay the least, that's probably your best bet. That or just wait six to twelve months, and HMV will probably have it at 2 for $30.

I bought it the first day of release at Best Buy for $17.99. (Which was REALLY cheap for a Disney release.)

I wasn't going to pay the extra $10 FS was charging for the steelcase.
